John Denver became a star through the folk-inspired songs he composed, the majority of which were set in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr., born Henry John Deutschendorf at Roswell in New Mexico fell in Love with Colorado. The place he settled was Aspen. Denver's popular songs about his adopted home state inspired many visitors to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame said that John Denver is the only musician to truly embody Colorado. In 2011 Denver was named the first Hall of Fame inductee. Denver is the symbol of Colorado for a lot of people around the world. When I travel, you are likely to meet people from the other side of the planet. Like, for instance, someone from New Zealand. And when someone asks you if you're Colorado-based, Colorado people will respond with "Oh John Denver!" Brown declared. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a brief time in folk music groups comprised of Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the song to Johnny Cash but Denver recognized the song's potential the moment he heard it for the first time. After performing the song at Washington D.C. to a massive crowd, Denver released the song a couple of days from now.
